Vipmedic is an informatic solution that manages your medical information records (your database) depending on the program configuration, and allows you to share information with other users through any available link, either a local network or an Internet connection.
Vipmedic is multiuser, allowing a number of registered users to own their record sets about their patients, and at the same time to access those of other users that granted persimission for that to happen. It can also be installed in several computers of a local network, sharing data in a common unit or acting as individual machines, Without having to get extra database software or or dedicated servers.
When we started to consider it, several goals where decided to achieve:
- Integrity and privacy of the managed information.
- Data availability in distant locations.
- An easy to use and manuals-free program.
- Minimize cost for the final solution.
We have not intended to merely create a web application, where you always have to beconnected to access your data. We believe in distributed systems, and there where you take your laptop, your information allways will stay available for you, not depending on an Internet connection.
To combine this targets has not been easy: The cost restraint and the local data availability needs suggested us to choose a data-centric and local cursor database with flexible encripting capabilities to fulfill the desired security premises.
Simultaneously, the data availability at distant points, together with extra integrity and segurity advantages, adviced us to choose a web server as MySQL (© 1995-2008 MySQL AB-Sun MicroSystems) interacting with your personal computer stored data.

After downloading the program, we want you to start recording information in a few minutes, and to discover, using it and as a natural process, the rest of the program possibilities.
After the program setup, your data will be only storeds locally, in your own computer, If you decide later you can share them through your local network with other users that could have installed the program in their own machines.
As a complement, If you do not use a network, the program allows you to exchange and synchronize records among users conected to the Internet, because the records also can be stored (and handled) in a web server, in an automatic way and with your minimum intervention.
